May 28,1996 WHEREAS, the~Q~ers of the hotel are unable to obtain market financing for the renovation; and WHEREAS, the renovation will create 39 new jobs and save 28 current positions; and WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth can apply for a Section 108 Loan and act as a loan intermediary to facilitate the renovation of the Holiday Inn Hotel. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City Council authorizes the City Manager to submit a Section 108 Loan Application to the Unites States Department of Housing and Urban Development and to provide additional information as required." Ayes: Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Webb Nays: Clemons - UNFI,NISHED BUSINESS - CONSENT AGENDA MotiOn by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to adopt the following ordinances, approved at the Public Hearing meeting on May 13, 1996, was adopted by the following vote: 96-50 (a): "ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z-95-23-B". 96-167 (a): "ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z-96-01". 96-167 (b): "ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z-96-02". 96-167 (C): "ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z-96-03". 96-167 (d): "ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z-96-04". Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Hawks, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Webb Nays: None Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to adopt the following resolution, approved at the Public Hearing meeting on May 13, 1996, was adopted by the following vote: 96-167 (e): "A RESOLUTION GRANTING APPROVAL FOR A GROUP HOUSING USE PERMIT (GHP-96-O2) TO PERMIT CONSTRUCTION OF NINETY-TWO APARTMENT UNITS ON TEJO LANE. WHEREAS, the applicant, Towne Development Corporation, agent of the owner of the subject property, has made application pursuant to Section 40-112 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988), as a~nended, for the approval and granting of a group housing permit for the construction of ninety-two apartment units on Tejo Lane in Portsmouth, Virginia, more particularly described as follows:
