Hutchins, Chairman, Defense Public Works Committee, presented the roi!ow- <br />ing letter and wire: <br /> <br />"Nr.W.R. Hutchins, Chairman, <br /> Defense Public Works Committee: <br /> <br /> This wire came this afternoon. We should accept it. Our original offer was <br />25% of $61y,0OO. This is a ?0% grant of $556,500. We can sewer everything in the City with <br />this amount. <br /> We should have authority to hire engineers for getting out the plans, pro <br />files and speeifications as we have not the people to do it. It is a tremendous amount of <br />work - the details the Government will require for sewers. <br /> <br />M.E.
