O., ~ was orde~d filed: 1942, at 7:00 P.M., ~Retel helmets in transit bands available early August. Letter foliows,e 2nd - The Manager presented the following telegram f~om. Ma~ry Maverick, Chief Bureau of Governmental War Production Board, which was ordered filed: °Recommendation is being made on one 1OOO GPM an& one 750 GPM Job. Impossible to recommend aerial truck.# . 3rd - "The ~e~eral Works Agency advised us today that they are sending out invitatiana for bids for the c~sv~v~tlon o f the health a nd welfare building for Port smouth.# On motion ordered filed. ~th.- eThe City Engineer has been'advised by the Bureau of Public Roads that we will receive a limited quantity of asphalt for repairing and re-~reating the more im- portent streets in our City. This allotment will no~ cover any new streets. However, we have every assurance that we will receive some asphalt for new paving this year.~ On motion ordered file~. 5th - "We have been advised by the Federal Works Agency that they will ap- prove the~ard of a eentractto the Meade Oonstruction 0ompany for Division A for Portsmouth City sewers, Docket VA 41~1~!, subject ~o approval by the War Produ~tlon Board of a priority sufficient ~o insure against any unnecessary delay in the work."
