<br /> The 1943 budget of the School Board was, on mction of Mr. Hutchins, referred
<br />to the Manager to consider in the 19~3 budget.

<br />bile truck, at the intersection of County and Glasgow Sts., in the City of Portsmouth, Virgi -
<br />nia, to the amount of Seventy-Nine Dollars and Thirty-Five Cents, ($79.35) by reason of the
<br />negligent'handling of the Portsmouth City. truck, license Number VA T 65-395, driven by George
<br />~isko, employed by the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, on Wednesday, Sep2ember 9th, 1942, at

<br /> Motion of Mr. Wilson to refer to the City Manager the question of providin~ a
<br />pension for William Merkle who was employed by the Public Service Department for twenty two
<br />years, and is now incapacitated, was adopted.

<br /> Motion of Mr. Lawrence to increase the Eanager's salary to $6,000. per year,
<br />beginning October 2Otb, he having served as Oity Manager for six months, was adopted.
