<br /> The Government is offering us the sum of $15,340.O0 for recreation-
<br />al facilities for t he rest of the year, and i respectfully reques~t that the attached resolution
<br />be adopted.
<br /> The City's part~of this total project will be $4,938. and I am re-
<br />questing that the balance under the following accounts be transferred as our part~ofth~ appro-

<br />Fae~ilities, Portsmouth, Va - Project VA 44-M-15.

<br />. - WHEREAS, there has been filed with the Federal Works
<br /> Agency, for and in behalf of the City of Portsmouth, Va., (herein
<br /> called the "Owner'S), an application for Federal assistance under
<br /> the Defense Public Works Program,~d the United States of America,
<br /> acting by and through the Federal ~orks Administrator, has trans-
<br /> mitted to the Owner an Offer of Federal assistance in connection
<br /> with t~e public works referred to.in s aid application and described
<br /> in said Offer; and
<br /> WHEREAS, said Offer has been duly read in open meeting
<br /> and has been fully considered in every respect in accordance with
<br /> the pertinent rules of procedure and legal requirements; an~
<br /> WHEREAS, said Offer has been made a part of the~ublic
<br /> records of the Owner; and
<br /> WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable aud in the public in-
<br /> teres~ that said Offer be accepted:
<br /> NOW, therefore, Be it Resolved by the City Council of
<br /> Portsmouth, Va., that the said Offer of the Unit~ Btates of America,
<br /> a true and correct copy of which is hereto attached, be and the same
<br /> hereby is accepted without reservation or qualification and that the
<br /> proper City offlolals be authorized to sign the acceptance."
