<br /> Mr. Howard stated that the Federal Government would have launched in New-
<br />port News, Va.,a cruiser to be named "Portsmouth" in honor of Portsmouth, N.H. and Portsmouth,
<br />Va.,in June, wi~h Mrs. Leigh, wife of our Mayor, as sponsor, and his motion to appoint a com-
<br />mittee of three with a committee of the Polygon ~01ub to make such p!ans as are necessary, was
<br />adopted.

<br />The ~hair appointed Messrs. Howard, Hall and Lawrence on said committee.

<br /> The folldwing communications from the Oity Manager were read:

<br /> 1st - "I am in ~eceipt ef the attaChed letter from the 0ity Engineer and
<br /> recommend that I be authorized to notify the ~alnaught Construction 0omoany to begin work on~
<br /> the storm drain sewer immediately, and that .the ~anager~e authorized to-execute the contract."
