Leigh, Leslie T. Fox, Russell M. Hall, W. R. Hutchins, <br />Frank D.' Lawrence, Co E. Warren, Pearle J. Wilson and Arthur <br /> Owens, City Manager. <br /> <br />The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />1st ~Please call a special meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, <br /> at 6:00 P.M., to consider the Jail question.~ <br /> <br /> 2nd - The City Manager rea~ a letter ~rom the Commissio~er of Corrections <br />and commented that the Board of Supervisors of Norfolk County had appointed Mr. Treakle and <br />Mr. Haywood a committee to confer with him, with power to act, with reference to the Jail. <br /> <br /> ~ne plan was that the County and the City were to return ~eir <br />male prisoners and the female prisoners were to be incarcerated on the ground floor of the <br />Norfolk County Jail. ~ne Gi~y was to pay the ~st of keeping, based on actual lodging cost and <br />the City was not to participate in any construction cost~ due to changes in the Norfolk County <br />Jail. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Fox tha~ the O~ity Manager and City Attorn~ey be appointed a <br />committee to confer ~th the committee from the Board of Supervisors ~o work out a plan th~.t <br />would be agreeable to both bodies, with power to act~ was adopted. <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />A_Dproved ~~ <br /> President. <br /> <br />City Clerk. <br /> <br /> <br />
