Timothy Oksman, City <br />Attorney. <br /> <br />96-271 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City CoUncil to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 <br />p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 1996, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />in addition, you may consider a motion togo intO an Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order oftheMayor." <br /> <br />96-272 - The following item was discussed in the Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Joint Meeting with the PPIC/IDA <br /> <br />The following Commissioners were present: <br /> <br />Steven Lynch <br />Roger Brown <br />Douglas Smith <br />B. Anne Davis <br />William Kline <br />Robert Williams <br />Edward Oast, Jr., Esq. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Benn, to go into Executive <br />Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the <br />following: <br /> <br /> (1) Discussion of appointments by Council to committees, boards, or <br />commissions, as permitted by Subsection (A)(1). <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the condition, acquisition or use of real <br />property for a public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, as <br />permitted by Subsection (A)(3). <br /> <br /> (3) Discussion or consideration of specific legal matters requiring the <br />provision of legal advice by counsel, as permitted by Subsection (A)(7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section <br />2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council <br />member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the <br />City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br /> <br />
