September let, !94~. <br /> <br /> At a special meeting of the City Council, held at lO:O0 A.M., on Friday, <br />September let, 194~, the Clerk Dreeented the oath of office of George L. Grimes, Frank D.L~w - <br />fence, Eo Robie Sturtevant and H~ Earl ~eiseman as CoUncilmen. The following were present: <br /> <br />Leslie T. Fox, George L. Grimes, J~es N. Howard~ W~ R. Hutchins, Frank D. Law- <br />fence, E. Robie Sturtevant, C. E. ~ar~en~ H. Earl ~eiseman and Pear!e J. ~ilson <br /> <br />The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />to:oo A.M., <br /> <br /> ~!ease attend a meeting of the City Council, in the Council Chamber, at <br />on Friday, September let, 194~ for organization purposes. <br /> By Order of the President," <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hutchins that the Council waive for this meeting the <br />clause in the rules calling for twenty-four hours notice, was ~dopted. <br /> <br />The Chair s~ated it was necessary ~o elect a ~Vice President. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Hutchins that we go into the election o f a Vice Presieent <br /> <br />was adopted. <br /> <br />~. ~eiseman nominated Mr. ~ilson for Vice President. <br /> <br /> There being no other nominations and the question being closed, Mr. Wil~ <br />son was elected Vice President, and by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes~ Fox, Grimes, Moward~ <br /> ~arren, Weiseman <br /> Nays~ None <br />Wilson not voting. <br /> <br />Hut chins, <br /> <br />Lawrenc e, <br /> <br />Stur~evant, <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hutchi,ns that we continue in eorce the rules adopted <br />September 13th, 1~36, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hutchins to gr~nt Mr. R. E~ Clover the privilege of the <br />floor was adopted. Mr. Clover asked the City Manager to report on his request. The Manager <br />stated that he recommended the appointment of an additional~puty for four month~ and further <br />recommended an ~opropriation of $300,00 to pay said deputy. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Grimes to concur in the Manager's recommendation and to <br />appropriate $300°00 fo~ said purpose, was adopted~ and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Fox, Grimes, Howard, Hutchins, <br /> ~arren, ~eiseman, Wil~on <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Lawrence, <br /> <br />Sturtevan~, <br /> <br />On motion adjourned° <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />Appro red - <br /> <br /> President, <br /> <br /> <br />
