September let, !94~. At a special meeting of the City Council, held at lO:O0 A.M., on Friday, September let, 194~, the Clerk Dreeented the oath of office of George L. Grimes, Frank D.L~w - fence, Eo Robie Sturtevant and H~ Earl ~eiseman as CoUncilmen. The following were present: Leslie T. Fox, George L. Grimes, J~es N. Howard~ W~ R. Hutchins, Frank D. Law- fence, E. Robie Sturtevant, C. E. ~ar~en~ H. Earl ~eiseman and Pear!e J. ~ilson The following call for the meeting was read: to:oo A.M., ~!ease attend a meeting of the City Council, in the Council Chamber, at on Friday, September let, 194~ for organization purposes. By Order of the President," Motion of Mr. Hutchins that the Council waive for this meeting the clause in the rules calling for twenty-four hours notice, was ~dopted. The Chair s~ated it was necessary ~o elect a ~Vice President. Motion of Mr. Hutchins that we go into the election o f a Vice Presieent was adopted. ~. ~eiseman nominated Mr. ~ilson for Vice President. There being no other nominations and the question being closed, Mr. Wil~ son was elected Vice President, and by the following vote: Ayes~ Fox, Grimes, Moward~ ~arren, Weiseman Nays~ None Wilson not voting. Hut chins, Lawrenc e, Stur~evant, Motion of Mr. Hutchi,ns that we continue in eorce the rules adopted September 13th, 1~36, was adopted. Motion of Mr. Hutchins to gr~nt Mr. R. E~ Clover the privilege of the floor was adopted. Mr. Clover asked the City Manager to report on his request. The Manager stated that he recommended the appointment of an additional~puty for four month~ and further recommended an ~opropriation of $300,00 to pay said deputy. Motion of Mr. Grimes to concur in the Manager's recommendation and to appropriate $300°00 fo~ said purpose, was adopted~ and by the following vote: Ayes: Fox, Grimes, Howard, Hutchins, ~arren, ~eiseman, Wil~on Nays: None Lawrence, Sturtevan~, On motion adjourned° City Clerk Appro red - President,
