<br /> Virginia, respectfully call the =ttention of your Honors. bls Body to
<br /> the fact that cases in the Civil and Police Court and the Juvenile
<br /> Cour~ of the City o f Portsmouth, have increased largely during the
<br /> present emergency and that the Judge of the above-mentioned Court has
<br /> no private office in which he can conduct the business of h~s Court,
<br /> but has only a desk i n the Court room and that while the law requires
<br /> Juvenile and Domestic Relations cases, which a re heard b efor~ the
<br /> Judge of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court to be heard only in
<br /> the presence of the Judge, court officers, attorneys and witnesses,
<br /> the present cour~ room does not permit this provision o ~ the law to be
<br /> carried out, and it is therefore respectfully requested that your Hon-
<br /> orable Body provide a suitable office for the Judge of the above-men -
<br /> tioned court and suitable quarters in which Juvenile and Domestic Re-
<br /> lations cases can be heard, in compliance with the law.
