The foiiowingletter was read: "As you know, for the past two years the Portsmouth Ci~mber of Corn merce has conducted s~ intensive c~apaign designed to attract new ~dustry to the City o f Por~tsmouth. V~ile it c~ be reported ti~t this effort has been successful, establisi~ent susa industri~ and ~act~ing pleats ~s not been accomplished for several reasons, tic~t~ly that the Portsmouth area has no available ~ildings for co~.erci~ use smd that gov~ er~¢ent restrictions prohibit construction of such buildings to house industrial and m~ufac turing fi~s desirous of locating in the Every effort has been advanced to eliminate this obstacle to estab- lislmment of industrial ~d m~act~ng plants in the area~ but to da~ our efforts have been ~msuccessful.
