Howard, g~anted to a delega- <br />tion o f the Chamber of Commerce, who renewed their request of October l~th, !9~7, for the City <br />to contribute ~28,000.00 to ~u industrial fend of ~80,000.00 to be created and to ask the <br />Legislat-ome to ~end the City Charter to allow the same. <br /> <br /> ~otion of~.r.i~ Howard that we ask our members in the Legislature to intro- <br /> i ' <br />duce a Biti~to g ye the City authority to subscribe to the Industrial Pund, was adopted~ <br /> <br /> On motion o f Mr. Howard, the privilege of the floor was granted <br />Fay~ whe presented the following, whlchvas, on motion, r eferredtothe <br /> <br /> "As you know, we are building ~8 houses on the remaining lots in North <br />Truxton so as to complete the development of this a rea. The new construction is located on <br />both~sides of Bagley Street. <br /> inasmuch as these h~uses will be comDleted shortly, we are ~iting to <br />request the installation by the City of the sewer line to serve these houses. <br /> ~e have gone over the matter with the City Engineer, ~. Bergeron, and <br />it has been estimated that ~000 fee~ of sewer at a cost of $$T~0~00 will be required~ <br /> ~nere will also be required ~00 feet of pavement, the length of Bagley <br />Street, with connections to Dal? Street and West Armstead Drive, at au estimated cost of <br />$8~8.00. Israel rendered very valuabla service to the City and it was <br />with regret that I accepted his resignation. I have appointed Mr. T. C. Miller to the positio~ <br />of City Recreation Tkireotor and ~rs. Taylor Jackson i~own as Assistant Director, in place of <br /> <br />On motion ordered filed. <br /> <br /> Bnd ~Attaehed is a bill of E. T. ~ite, Clerk of the Circuit Court of <br />Norfolk County for $1,00B.88 for preparing the real estate assessment included in the annexed <br />ter~.~itory, and a bill of $1~.90, balance due on court costs, and $B9.~ for certifying t~_ree <br />cop~es of the Annexation Order. <br /> i respectfully request a special appropriation of $1,0~8.0~ to <br />pay the three bills and to be charged to Annexation expense.~ <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Grimes to place an appropriation of {~t,046.05 for said <br />purpose, on its first reading, was adopted. <br /> <br /> <br />
