<br />call your attention as councilman of this section, to the deplorable condition o f Giles Street
<br />and request that action be taken by you to bring this before the Council of the Cityo f Ports-

<br /> The original thin application of gravel and tar laid in 19~ has com-
<br />p~tely disappeared, leaving the street a quagmire of mud in wet and ~inter weather, and so
<br />full of holes even when dry, as to b e almost impassable~ With no sidewalks we are forced to
<br />use the street both for ~riving aud walking, at risk of b~oken springs and broken limbs.
<br /> The street is an eyesore and a trial to us, and we sincerely hope that
<br />you will present this matter to the Couucil as a necessity for the improvement of this section
<br />and a benefit to us.
