Lawerence presented the following communication, which was

"When the American National Bank sold bbs Glensheallah golf course oro -
petty to the City of Portsmouth, on Jsa~ary 2Tth~ 1~40, it intended to convey the remai_.~i~r of
the Armistead tract north of the Atlantic Coast ~ine track. However, we ~re informed that ~e
also conveyed a strip of ~d fronting 80 feet on the n~ th side of High St. and r~m_ning along
the eastern fence of the Evergreen ~emorial Park ~o Glasgow Street. If this be t~ae, o~r attor-
ney in drawing the deed, made an honest error, for we have never considered that we owned this
strip of land. To the contrary, we know that this strip of land was included, or shou~d have
been i~cluded, in the conveyance of the Glsnshealla~. Corporation t° the Evergreen ~emorial Park
Corporation, dated November 13th, 1958, as the~r~can Natzonal Bsnk was a party to this con-
veyance, as well a s myself as Trustee. ~e also En~~ thab subsequently, on December ggth, i939,
the Evergreen Nemorial Park Corporation conveyed, or intended to convey, this same land, includ
lng the said 80 foot strip, t o F.D. Lawrence, C.H. Shellings and Sol Foss, as Trustees, under a
trust agreement for the perpetual operation of Evergreen Nemorial Park. The above-ng~ed trust-
ees, on December 31st, 19~T, conveyed this same strip, fronting 80 feet on the n~th side of
High Street, bo the Portsmouth Star Publishing Oomporgtion. Tho Attorney for the Po~tsr~outh St~
Publishing Corporation has info~med this corporation that the above-named trustees of Evergreen
~emorial Park do not own this strip o£ land, but t~hat it is owned by the City of Portsmouth
from the conveyance of the American Nationa% Bank tothe City of Portsmouth, as above refezTed
to. Therefore, it is requested that the City of Portsmouth do what is necessary to correct the
honest error above referred to.
