<br />19~8, ~o investigate the proposals subrmitted by the'Superintendent of the Water Department,
<br />respectfully report as follows:
<br /> On ~arch SBnd, your committee visited the Godwin ~t. P~mmping Station
<br />and inspected the Air Compressors which Er. Murden proposed to sell. We agree with Mr. 5{urden
<br />that these compregsors are obsolete and of no further use to the City. We recommend that they
<br />be sold to the highest bidder.
<br /> ~e also visite~ the Filter Plant in Suffolk and found that the agita-
<br />tors in question are deteriorating r~ idly and in a short time will have to be renewed. We
<br />recommend that the new agitators be purchased.
<br /> We also reco~end ~that the lot located at the corner of Washington
<br />and Pelham Sts. be donated to the City o~f Suffolk.
<br /> Your Committee believes that the question o f installing the Pitometer
<br />System and the making of maps for the same, is a question that should be discussed by the
<br />Co~muci!.

<br />ricers be authorized to make a note or n~es maturing at any
<br />time prior to December 31st, 1948, at two (2%) per cent in-
<br />terest, to'-evidence such borrowing;~and the revenues of the
<br />City for the current year are pledged to the reps~ment of
<br />su~h borrowing."
