Barclay, City ~ttorne~. <br /> <br /> Minutes of regular meeting held on March 8th and special meeting of <br />March 25th were read and approved. <br /> <br />following cozm~aunication from the City ~anager was read: <br /> <br /> 1st - "After due advertisement~in the YBond Bnyer~, the,Portsmouth <br />Star' and by mailed notices, bids were opened today at noon for the sale of ~250,000.00 of <br />Ferry Bonds, to be dated April 1st, 19~9~ Tb~e follo¥~ng bids were received: <br /> Miller and Patterson,Richmond, Va~ ~ 253,950.00 <br /> C.F. Cassetl & Company, Charlottesville, Va. 251,665.00 <br /> Scott, Homer & Mason, Lynchburg, Va. 256,427.77 <br /> Investment Corporatio~ of Norfolk 256,040o00 <br /> ~ason, Hagan, inc., Rigb~mond, Va. 255,~40,00 <br /> The highest bid was submitted by Scott, Homer & ~ason, Inc.~ <br />and is set forth as follows: <br /> 'We wish to sdbmit our bid of Two H~mdred Fifty Six Thousand <br /> Fsur_Hundred Twenty Seven~a~d77/100 Dollars ($256,4~7.77) <br /> for ~250,000. Portsmouth, Vzrgini~ 2~% Ferry Bonds amvertised <br /> in your official novice of sale, all the terms and conditions <br /> of vfnich we hereby agree to comply with and which notice of <br /> sale is hereby ~d~ part of this bid; <br /> It is understood that the Cityv_ill furbish at their own cost <br /> the approving legal opinion of messrs. ~ood, King andDawson, <br /> New York, N.Y., and will pay the cost of printing of the bonds. <br /> As required in the notice o f sale, inclosed please find ou~ <br /> certified check for ~5,000;00 as evidence of good faith. <br /> Yours very sincerely, <br /> Scott,Homer & Mason, Inc., <br /> Robert H.
