Stratton, Secretaryto <br /> A. ~mllms Robertson." <br /> <br /> Inclbsure - <br /> <br /> ~'Dear Senator Robertson: <br /> <br /> Reference is made to your letter of November let, 19~9, w~ith which <br />you inclosed a copy of a resolution adopted by the Board of Supervisors of ~orfomk County, <br />Virginia, and the City Council of Portsmouth, asking tha~ the Department of Defense recon- <br />sider its action placing the Nansemond Ordnance Depot in an iaactive status. <br /> ~The need for re~renctnnent in Government economy makes it necessary <br />for the Department of Defense to review constantly its requirements and effect savings zn <br />ma~powe~ and money wherever possible.
