I have labored with~ <br />ceasing for a better community, better churches. I do appreciate what you've done and what <br />you are doing for o~ schools and c~vic interest. I shall retire on June 15, 19~0. Will you <br />~aen consider me as a pensioner? I thank you." <br /> <br />On motzca re, er_ed to the school Board. <br /> <br />Time following letter from Churchland Post No. ~lO was read: <br /> <br /> ~'We as members of the Churchland Post #~lO of the ~aericar. Legion <br />are asking your co-operation~in helping us to make our project a success. <br /> Ne are trying to raise some money to b e used in community ser- <br />vices only, one of our plans are to operate a club to train young b&ys in b ox~mg, not only <br />those wishing to appear before the public but also those who wish t o have that t~e of train- <br />ing in the art of self-defense. <br /> In order to raise this money we are trying to stage bi-monthly <br />bo~ing matches ~ ' <br /> ~n your cmty armory, the first of these matches was Held on Narch 1Fth, This <br />was met with fair success but after paying our expenses we found we were on the losing end. <br /> Of our total receipts of $$88.~0, we f_nd ghat we are paying to <br />the City of Portsmouth direst or indirect a total o~ ~lOlo~o.
