No doubt you have seen from the press that the West <br />Park View G~rden Club is trying so hard to complete the building by Spring, and are now having a "Parade of Pen - <br />nies~ and we as the Co~ttee Chairmen a~e asking Council to appropriate a contribution to the Building Fund - <br />Portsmouth has never in any way shown their appreciation of the boys and girls who fought for us in World War #2. <br />Some gave their lives. So the West Park View Garden Club had four lots given them~o erect a memorial so the <br />boys and girls bhat ha~e come back - ~ome gone again - could have a place ~to go and relax and feel it is their <br />abode. The Misses Hill of Sea Breeze Farms are giving the ~lO,000. Memorial Library in memory of their brother. <br />The Auditorium~ll seat 480 people and the Library for clubs to meet and do research work. There is nowhere in <br />Portsmouth for Garde~ Olubs to meet. Some meet at Y.M.C.A. and Elks Club. In this auditorium there will be <br />meeting place for ar~ organization, and teen-age girls and goys can have a place to meet. <br /> We thought members of the Council might see their way clear to make a <br />contribution to this worthy cause.
