<br />Department inspect homes in reference to fire hazards, was adopted.

<br /> "On or about F~arch 16th, 192&, I was appointed a regular patrol~n on the Police force of
<br />the City of Portsmouth. After ~e~ing until ~bout January 31, 1931, I resigned with a good record. You may thee
<br />this if you like. During the time I served I had about $98.50 t~ken out for retirar~ent. Now if you will check
<br />your records you will find that a good n~&mber of men received a ref~.d When they left the service. I was informe~
<br />by the City Manager that it was only retroactive back~ 19~6, that prior to that date it was not refundable, bu~
<br />through oversignt, he overlooked as far back as the date i resigned. But all of that is water over the dam. What
<br />I want you gentlemen to do is to see if you can see a way to refund mine. I really feel like it belongs to me
<br />and I have no way of getting other 5enefit from it. Anything you can do will be appreciated.
