A~d18,1997 <br /> <br />1(35 <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />The Budget Contingency (Emergency) essentially represents the General Fund <br />balance for the City and is appropriated during the budgetary process as a <br />reserve for purposes such as this. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, to transfer $200,000 to <br />pay for juvenile group home and detention home expenses, and was adopted by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Clemons, Griffin, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />97 - 113 - Adoption of a motion to transfer $16,339 from the Grants Contingency <br /> AcCount to purchase computer hardware and related equipment and to <br /> supplement the current grant for the Community Corrections Program. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br /> · Adoption of a motion to transfer $16,339 from the Grants Contingency Account <br /> to purchase computer hardware and related equipment and to supplement the <br /> current grant. <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />· The Community Corrections program provides comprehensive corrections <br /> services to the courts for local offenders. <br /> <br />· The Department of Criminal Justice Services has made available these additional <br /> funds to augment current operations. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />· This is a supplement to the current FY 97 CCCA grant and will increase the total <br /> program budget from $142,481 to $158,820. <br /> <br />· There is no local match required. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to transfer $16,339 to <br />purchase computer hardware and related equipment and to supplement the current <br />grant, and was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, ClemOns, Griffin, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- NEW BUSINESS- <br /> <br />97 - 114 - Mr. Clemons offered the following nominations for Boards and <br />Commissions: <br /> <br />Municipal Finance Commission <br /> <br />Solomon Ashby to be appointed to fill an unexpired term ending June 30, 1998, <br />replacing Deborah Hundley. <br /> <br />Portsmouth Parking Authority <br /> <br />Solomon Ashby to be appointed to fill an unexpired term ending June 30, 1998, <br />replacing Deborah Hundley. <br /> <br /> <br />
