Grimes to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission on the ap- <br />plication of George T. Magee was adopted. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Wilson to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commassion on the <br />application of the City of Portsmouth and L. A. Owens, was adopted. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Lawrence to refer back To the Planning Commission the application of Paul O. <br />Parry to rezone certain lots on Parker Avenue. <br /> <br /> ~ Motinn of Mr. Stur~evan~ to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission on all <br />other applications and the approval of the Norfolk County Sub-division Ordinance, was~gDted. <br /> <br />The following letter from Portsmouth FireFighters Local 539 was read: <br /> <br /> "Two special meetings of Local 539 I A P F were held the 22 and 23 of June~ 1953, and it <br />was a unanimous vote that this letter he sen~ to you requesting a meeting with the Council in regard to the working <br />conditions in the Fire Department These conditions, we of Local 539 feel are unjust and unfair, We would like <br />to mee~ with you and find out why they do exist and if possible a remedy sought.
