July 27th; 1954. - August 3, 1954. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />54-217 The following letter from the City Clerk was read: <br /> <br /> "It will be necessary at this meeting for the Council to elect a Civil and Police <br />Justice for a four year term beginning September 1st, 1954." <br /> <br /> Motion of NLr. Howard to go into the election of a Civil and Police Justice and <br />Judge~ of Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, was adopted. <br /> <br /> NLr. Howard nominated W. H. W. Cassell for Civil and Police Justice and Judge of <br />the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Smith that nominations be closed, was adopted. <br /> <br />· Vote being taken, Judge Cassell was elected for a four year term beginning Septem- <br /> <br />her 1st, 1954. <br /> <br />54~218 - <br /> <br />Bill from D. M. Bilisoly,Jr., George L. Grimes, R. E. Hawks, C.C. Houghton,Jr., <br />J. N. Howard, E. W. Lawrence, R. Irviue Smith, E. R. Sturtevaut, C. E. W~rren, <br />Poarle J. Wilson, I. G. Vass,City Manager, and H. d. Barclay, City Attorney. <br /> <br />The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"You are requested to attend a called meeting of the City Council in the Council <br />Chamber at 7:30 P.M., on Tuesday, August 3rd, ~o consider an o~dinance for the <br />issuance of General Improvement Bo~ds.
