Ma_v 27, 1997 .13 3 At a Called Meeting of the City COuncil on Tuesday, May 27, 1997, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley Iii, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, *Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James T. Martin, *Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Berm Ill, Ronald W. Massie, City Manager, G. Timothy Oksman, City Attorney. 97-153 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's Conference Room, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, 1997, for the purpose of a public work session. in addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 97-154 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: 1. Joint Meeting with the School Board The following members were present: Byron KIoeppel, Chairman Ray Smith, Sr., Vice Chairman Rev. Chades Bowens II James Bridgeford Dr. Elizabeth Daniels Lawrence I'Anson Dr. David Joyner Louise Walden 2. Communication Towers Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (A)(3). (1) The disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection (2) Consultation with legal counsel and briefings by staff members, consultants or attorneys pertaining to actual or probable litigation, as permitted by SubSection (A)(7). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion of Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Martin, pursuant to Section 2.1- 344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
