"We have noted the news concerning the possibility of discontinuing the Portsmouth-- Nerfel~k Ferry service with a great 'deal of interest. As'~you have probably-realized, the discontinuance of the Ferries would leave no convenient public ~ransportation for pedestrian traffic between lower HiEh St. and Norfolk ~e, of course, are particularlyo~tere, stedinthepassen~ersnsing our trains between POrtsmouthand the south. Shou/~ the ferries ~e withdrawn, there is a possikility that the Etizaheth River Tun- nel Commission wo~td be willing to route one or two buses along azer St. to s~op at the present C & O bus stop at o~rstation.
