The Planning Commission recomm~f~ls that this petition be denied. On November
4~ I954, the lrlanning C~ission disapproved a petition t;o change the zoI~_ng
of property directlyo,pp, osite across Airline B~ate~ard, it being the opinion
of the Planning Co~ission that the co-martial development along Airline Blvd.,
in this vicinity is undesirable south of. Brig/~ton St., and would adversely
affect a stabl~ residential~e~ghborhood. In denying tko present petititm, the
Planning Commission reaffirms that opinion. It is to be noted that there is
co~ksidarable land nezr and adjacent to Airline Boulevard north of Brighton
St.~ which is presently in a COMMERCIAL U~E District and not so used. It is
to be fl~e~ n~ted that the p~eaealt petition ~dees ~t precisely involve the
exte~ion of an exis~i~lg G COMMEECLA_L District; the area immediately north
(kf]~ghton. St., ia in an F I/)CALBUSINESS District, not in a ~ C01i~ERCIAL
held at the meeting of ~he Planning Commission on M~rch 4, 1955; ~c~ion
deferred a~ ~l%a~ ti~e.
The Planning Comm~ ssion reC~mm~ends that this petition he denied, for the
