A second Norfolk-Portsmouth tunnel. <br /> 2. Proposed off-street parking study." <br /> <br /> Motion of Nm. Hawks to refer to the City Manager, was adopted. <br /> <br /> The fallowing reports from the City Hanager were read: <br /> <br /> 55-~05 - ~At the last regular meeting of Council, th~ question of leasing the eld Bank of <br />Virginia building for the Public Library, was referred to me for further information. The information secured was <br />presented at ~ c~uneil conference last week; however, in order to c~plete ~he records in them inures ef the <br />Council, I am reporting that I have conferred with the .owners of the building and have been advised that the <br />r~ntal agreemenz could be cenzinued at the present ~ate te provide for a five year rental agreement and that an <br />option can be secured for an additional five years az the increase of $100.00 per month for the last five year <br />period er if the City is interested in purchasing the building the owners w~uld consider negotiating a sale ~o <br />the City." <br /> <br /> Moti~u of Mr. Smith to s~spe~d the rules to hear from the Chairman of the Library <br />Board, Jerome Cart, was adopted. <br /> Mr. Carr spoke for moving the Library to the old Bank of Virginia building. <br /> <br /> <br />
