February 5th~ 1957., <br /> <br />At a called meeting of the City Council, held on February 5th, 1957, there were present: <br /> <br />A.C. Bartlett, B. W. Baker, W.E. Hinton, Frank L. Kirby, John E. <br />tR. Irvine Smith; H, Eari W~iseman, I.G.'Va~s, City M~nager, and <br />City A~to~ey. <br /> <br /> Scott, <br />R.C.Barclay, <br /> <br />'The following ~ail for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a conference of the Council with Charles Russell and Cecil Jones, at <br />2:00 P.M., on Monday, February 4th, in the Council ChamSer, regarding off-street <br />parking. <br /> You are also requested ~e attend a:called meeting of the Council s~ 7:30 P.M., <br />on Tuesday, February 5th, for a hearing upon the petition of Construction Associates, <br />Inc., to have the following streets vacated and the report of the viewers thereon: <br /> (a) Clifford St., as 'shown on said plats ~xtending eastwardly from <br /> Route 17 A to the plat of the Wm.F. Cuthriell property. <br /> (b) Bar~ St., extending eastwardly from the'eas~ side of Route 17 A <br /> to the plat of the Wm.F. Cuthriell property. <br /> (c) V~rmont Ave,, extending southwardly from the south side of South <br /> St., to thesoutheast side of Route 17 A." <br /> <br />The ~a~or stated that this is a public hearing and any interested parties could be heard <br /> <br />concerning this matter. <br /> <br />JVA. MacKenzie, representing Construction Associates, <br /> <br />spoke for the closing of the <br /> <br />above-~entioned streets. <br /> <br />Six stood protesting. <br />On motion adjonrned. <br /> <br />Wm. H.. Oast, representing Roy Rodman, spoke against the closing of Vermont Ave. <br /> <br /> <br />
