16 <br /> <br />June lgth~ 1957 <br /> <br />now needed to correct existing deficiencies - viz: drainage and flood control, <br />structural rehabilitation; streets; and also of needed capital ~mprovements , <br />such as a new municipal building and court house - (these may be ~ther in one <br />or two structures); Library;' establishment~of one or'more Police Precinct sta- <br />tions; city garage facilities and central parking area for City automotive equip- <br />ment and automobiles when not required for city business; a new incincerator, and <br />such other projects that may be deemed necessary for the public interests. <br /> <br />Vacate the office of City Manager and fill the position with the selection of a <br />local man. And in addition, require the City Manager in filling city positions to <br />exhaust ail possibilities to obtain local citizens prior to considering applications <br />from non-residents. <br /> <br />That Council hold frequent public meetings on these and other importan~ matters of <br />public interest in order to acquaint the citizens with what is being conszdered <br />and to obtain expression of the citizens thoughts Mud feelings in such matters. <br />Keep the citizens fully advised as ~o public'business, by so doing it will be much <br />easier ~o obtain their support of all worthwhile projects." <br /> <br />M.
