McCoy, Deputy City Manager <br />Johnna Whitaker, Deputy City Manager <br /> Robert Creecy, Director, Management and Legislative Affairs <br /> George Willson, Deputy City Attorney <br /> Kenneth Wheeler, Director, Marketing, Museums and Tourism <br /> Regina Harrington, Principal Management Analyst <br /> Karen Ellis, Principal Management Analyst <br /> Sheila Powell Pittman, Director, Citizen and Community Outreach <br /> Matthew James, Director, Economic Development <br /> Philippe Chino, Assistant Director, Economic Development <br /> <br />97-239 -The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held at the <br />Williamsburg Hospitality House, 415 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, Virginia, on <br />Sunday, August 24, 1997 at 8:15 p.m.; on Monday, August 25, 1997 at 8:00 a.m.; <br />and on Tuesday, August 26, 1997 at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of a City Council <br />Retreat. <br /> <br />in addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />97-240 - The following items were discussed during Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Economic Development <br /> <br />2. Financial Planning <br /> <br />3. Boards and Commissions <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to go into Executive <br />Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the <br />following: <br /> <br /> 1. Appointments by Council to committees, boards, or commissions, as <br /> permitted by subsection (A)(1). <br /> <br /> 2. Personnel matters, as permitted by subsection (A)(1). <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Berm, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, pursuant to Section 2.1- <br />344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br /> <br />
