B~r~.letr, B. W. Ba~er, W.E. Hinton, Frank L. Kirby, John E. Scott, <br />R. irvine Smith, H. Ea~l~We£seman, -IJG. Vass, City Manager, and J.S.Livesay, <br />City Atforney. <br /> <br />The following'call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br />"Please attend a called meeting of the City Council, in the Council <br />Chamber, on Monday, June 30th, aT 4:30 P.M., to consider the Seaboard <br />Air Line Railroad property option. <br />By Order of the President." <br /> <br />58-203 - On motion of Mr. Smith, the following resolution was adopted, and by the <br /> <br />"RESOLVED, That the City of Portsmouth elects to purchase the property <br />covered by the contra%t of sale dated December ll, 1957, betwee~ it and <br />Seaboard Air Line Railroad Company, the execution of which was authorized <br />by this Council on December 10, 1957; and <br /> <br />P~SOLVED, That the Mayor and President of the Council is hereby authorized <br />and directed To give~ appropriate notice of such election To purchase to <br />Seaboard Air Line Railroad Company; and <br /> <br />RESOLVED, That the Mayor and President of Council, City Manager and City <br />Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to make notes in the amount of <br />tbree hundred thousand($300,O00.00) dollars in accordance with Section 8-16 <br />of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, 1951, to provide the purchase price <br />of the aforesaid property." <br /> <br /> Ayes: Bartlett, <br /> <br /> Nays: Baker. <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />Hinton, Kirby, Scott, Smith, Weiseman <br /> City Clerk. <br /> <br /> <br />
