This ordinance is <br />necessary for the condemnation of property in Suffolk in connection with the construction of Lake Meade." <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Bartlett, the following ordinance was placed on first reading: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY IN <br />NANSE~OND COUNTY, VIRGINIA, AIE~ESSARY FOR USE BY THE CITY FOR WATERWORKS <br />AND RELATED FACILITIES, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 258 OF THE ACTS OF ASSEMBLY <br />OF 1958." <br /> <br /> 58-296 - "I am submitting a contract with ~he Centriline Oorporatkon for the cleaning and lining <br />of approximately 7,500 feet of ca~t iron water mains in Suffolk, Va., at a cost of $42,333.00. This covers the <br />lining of approximately 1,400 feet of 12 inch main and 6,000 feet of 16 inch main. This main is~t~e principal <br />supply line to the City of Suffolk and the factory district as well as to the elevated tank. <br /> It is necessary that this work be done before cold weather and this would require that <br />the contract he approved before the lbth of October. <br /> I recommnend that the proper City officials be authorized ~o sign this con~ract." <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Breedlove that the proper city b~ficials be authorized to sign this con- <br /> <br /> 58-297 - "I am submitting an easement between the Virginia Electric and Power Company and the CAt <br />of Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> <br />
