October 6, 1997 21 5 At a Ca led Meeting of the City CounCil on Monday, October 6, 1997 there were present: *Mayor James W. Holley Ill, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Benn III, City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. 97-270 - The follOwing call for the meeting was read: ',Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor of City Hall, 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 6, 1997, for the purpose of an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded bY Mr. Benn, to go into Executive Session pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Discussion of appointments by Council as permitted by Subsection (A)(1). (2) Discussion or consideration of the use of real property for a public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion of Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Martin, pursuant to Section 2.1- 344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive SesSion of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia FreedOm of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was conVened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. On motion meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m. APPROVED - Dr. James W. Holley III ~ Mayor Debra Y. White, CMC City Clerk *Mayor James W.
