Holley III, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard <br />D. Griffin, Sr., James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. <br />Thomas Benn III, City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy <br />Oksman <br /> <br />97- 271 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the <br />City Manager's Conference Room, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford <br />Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 14~ 1997, for the purpose of a Public <br />Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive <br />Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />97-272- The following item was discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />(1) City Park Master Plan <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin; and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to go into <br />Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of <br />Virginia, to discuss or consider the following: <br /> <br />(1) An appointment by Council to committees, boards, or <br /> commissions, as permitted by subsection (A)(I). <br /> <br />(2) The condition, acquisition, or use of real property for a public <br /> purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted <br /> by Subsection (A)(3). <br /> <br />(3) SPecific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by <br /> counsel, as permitted by Subsection (A)(7). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, pursuant to <br />Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the <br />Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive <br />Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully eXemPted from open <br /> meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information <br /> Act, and <br /> <br /> <br />
