OctOber 28. 1997 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on TueSday, October 28, 19971 there were present: Mayor James W. Holley Ill, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, *Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett~ Jr,, J~ Thomas Benn III, City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman 97- 282 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's COnferenCe Room, 6th floor 0f City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 28, 1997, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 97,283 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: (1) Elizabeth River Water Quality In t at yes (2) Communication Towers Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Benn, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2,1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the following: (1) An appointment by Council to committees, boards, or commissions, as permitted by Subsection (A)(1). (2) The condition, acquisition, or use of real property for a public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote, Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section 2,1-344,1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public businesS matters as were identified in the motion by which the ExeCutiVe Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City COuncil.
