Livesay~ Jr., City ~torney. <br /> <br />The following calI for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please ~ttend a special maeting of the City CounciI at 7:30 P.N., on Thursday, <br />September l?th, 1059, in the Council Chamber, to consider an ordinance ~n first reading authorizing the condem- <br />nation o£ property in connection with the construction o£ Lake Meade. <br /> By Order of the President. <br /> <br /> 59~E51 - The following letter from the City Manager was read: <br /> <br /> "I submit the following ordinance ~nd recommend that it be placed on first r~ading. <br /> This ordinance is necessary to proceed with condemnation of property in Nansemond <br />County ~n connection with the construction of the Lake Meade <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Weiseman that the emergenc~ clause be added to the ordinance and <br />that the following ordinance be placed on firs~ reading was adopted, without dissenting vote: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY <br /> IN NENSE~IOND COUNTY, VIRGINIA, NECESSARY FOR USE BY THE CITY FOR <br /> WATERWORKS AND P~ELATED FACILITIES, PURSUANT TO C~IPTER M58 OF <br /> THE ACTS OF ASSEMBLY OF 1958" <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />l~pproved - <br /> <br /> Mayor. <br /> <br />City Clerk. <br /> <br /> <br />
