November 10 1997 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, November 10, 1997, there were present: *Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, *Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Benn III, City Manager Ronald W. Massie, Deputy City Attorney George M. Willson 97- 296 - The follOWing call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor of City Hall, 5:00 p.m., Monday, November 10, 1997, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 97 - 297 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: (1) PFM - Financial Advisors (2) Legislative Proposals Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, as follows: Discussion or consideration of the condition, acquisition or use of real property for a public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). The real property_ in question is in the Mid-City and downtown areas. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section 2.1- 344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
