November 10 1997 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, November 10, 1997, <br />there were present: <br /> <br /> *Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, *Bernard D. <br />Griffin, Sr., James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas <br />Benn III, City Manager Ronald W. Massie, Deputy City Attorney George M. <br />Willson <br /> <br />97- 296 - The follOWing call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Council Chamber, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor of City Hall, 5:00 p.m., <br />Monday, November 10, 1997, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. <br /> <br /> By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />97 - 297 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />(1) PFM - Financial Advisors <br /> <br /> (2) Legislative Proposals <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to go into <br />Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of <br />Virginia, as follows: <br /> <br />Discussion or consideration of the condition, acquisition or use of real <br />property for a public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, <br />as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). The real property_ in question is in the <br />Mid-City and downtown areas. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section 2.1- <br />344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City <br />Council: <br /> <br />Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />(2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion <br /> by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, <br /> discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br /> <br />
