the~following vote: <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Smith, the appropriation was approved, on second reading, and by <br /> <br /> Ayes: Baker, Bartlett, Breedlove, Smith, Walker <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br /> - The following ordinance~ which was referred to a conference at a <br /> <br /> 59-250.1 <br />former meeting, was taken up and ~ead: <br /> <br /> "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A CO~PAEMENT, THE <br /> ~LASSIFI~ATION OF EMPLOYMENT, AND A COMPENSATION PLAN FOR FIREMEN <br /> AND POLICEMEN OF THECIT¥" <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker moved the adoption of the ordinance~ <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Smith that the ordinance be tabled until it can be considered <br />meeting with more~than five members present, was adopted. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />59-303 - Motion of Mr, Walker to suspend the rules to hear from Mrs. Marian <br /> <br />Rawls, was adopted~ <br /> <br /> Mrs. Rawls spoke regarding the condition of Oak Grove and Cedar Grove Cemeteries, <br />and asked that Oak Grove Cemetery be entirely enclosed with an adequate fence, that sidewalks be constructed <br />outside the fence from First Ave. to Park View-School grounds, that the gaze at B Street be replsced with <br />continuous-n~tal fencing, thst Beszley Foundation be required to construct tennis-baseball height metal fencing <br />on. its line, that the gatg from the playground opening into the cemetery be removed and that the principal of <br />Park View School be requested to instruct the pupils of that school To refrain from traversing ~he cemetery to <br />and-from school. Mrs.-Rswls also questioned the location of the Boy Scout hut, near the cemetery. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Walker ~that the City. Manager. be directed to make a study of the <br />situation and give a complete report on the cemetery situation, which would include a report as to whether the <br />Boy Scout hut, .3ust outside the B St. entrance to.the cemetery, is-on city property, or if there are other <br />encroachments, was adopted. <br /> <br />~using the material <br /> <br />on ~hand. <br /> <br />,The City Manager was directed ~o proceed with <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />the fencing of Oak Grove C~metery, <br /> <br />City Clerk. <br /> <br />~ pproved - <br /> <br /> President. <br /> <br /> <br />
