December 29th, 1959. At a regular meeting of the City Council, -held on December 29th, 1959, there were present: B. We Baker, A.C. Bartlett, W.R. Breedlove, R. B. Seward, R. Irvine Smith, George R. Walker, H. E. Weiseman, A~. Johnson,Jr., City Manager, and J.S. Livesay,Jr., City Attorney. The meeting was opened with prayer ~y. Mr. Bartlett. Minutes of regular meeting of December 8th, 1959 and called meeting of December 22nd, 1959 were read and approved. were read: 59-330 - The following Notice of Public Hearing and letter from the Planning CoMmission "Pursuant to the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held at 7:30 P.M., on December 29th, 1959, in the Council Chamber, Municipal Building, Ports- mouth, Virginia, on the following: 39-59 - The application of the City of Portsmouth to rezone the property designated as Parcel B, beginning at a l~Oint on the easterly extension of the north side of North Street, said point being 225.2 feet easterly from the aerd~east intersection of Mt. Verno~ Avenue and North Street; thence easterly along said extension, which is the southerly boundary, line of the band purchased from the City of Portsmouth by the Csrlee Realty Corporation by deed dated September 9, 1959, 239 feet, more or less, to a point on the westerly side of Broad Street as extended by the Department of Public Works of the City of Portsmouth, Vir - ginia; thence southeasterly along the westerly side of Broad Street, e distance of 325 feet, more or less, to a point on the proposed northerly right of way of Glasgow Street; thence S 84° 15' W along the proposed northerly right of way of @lasgow Street, a distance of 360 feet, more or less, To a point; thence N 1© 56' W, 68.69 feet to a thence N 1° point; thence N 84° 14' E, 29.32 feet to a point; thence N 1° 56' W, 176.25 feet to a point; 00' W, 81.20 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.
