Livesay, Jr., City Attorney. <br /> <br />The meeting was opened with prayer by Mr. Smith. <br /> <br /> Minutes of regular meeting held on October 25t~, 1960 ~nd special meeting of November lat <br />1960, were read and approved. <br /> <br />The ltl!owing reports from the City Manage? wer9 re~d: <br /> <br /> 60-239 - "I submit ~D attached ordinaqce and rgco~mmend that it be placed on first,,readin~. <br />This ordnance is necessar~ to conform ~o the contract for leasing the ~ta~ium for professional baseball. <br /> <br />dissenting vote: <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Bre~dlove, the following ordinance ~s approved on firs~ reading, without <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTIONS 23-? THROUGH 2~-25 OF THE CODE OF 'r~ CITY OF <br /> PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1951, AS AMENDED TO PROVIDE FOR LEASING OF THE PORTSMOUTB <br /> STADIUM FOR USE BY PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL UNDER FRANCHISE, REDUCING CHARGES FOR <br /> USE THEREOE BY WOODROW WILSONHIGH SCHOOL, PROVIDING GENERALLY FOR OTHER USES <br /> AND MANAGEMENT THEREOF, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF" <br /> <br /> 60-330 - "I recommend that I be authorized to accept a deed from Morton Levinson for <br />delinquent real estate and that the ~axes be relieved for the years 1959-60. These are necessary in order that the Stat~ can relocate two <br />bridges on State Routes 634 and 637 on Lake Cahoon in Nanse mond County.
