<br />The meeting was opened with praye~ by Mfr.' Barnes.

<br /> Minutes'of regula~ meeting held on March 14th, 1961 and called meetings of March 16th,
<br />1961 and March 21st, 1961, were read and approved.
<br />
<br /> The following rep~s, from the City Manager were read:

<br /> SIDEWALK OF THE WEST SIDE OF COURT ~TREET, AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH HIGH STREET"

<br /> 61-81 - "I submit the attached agreement between th~ Atlantic Coast Line Railroad end
<br />the City of Portsmouth and recont?end tha~ the p~oper, city official be authorized zo sign. This agreement autho-

<br />lief of rexes requested by Calvary Baptist Church."

<br /> Attached - 'The request of Calvary Baptist Church for relief of ~axes on proper~y at 201 MacArthur
<br />Avenue was referred ~o me f.or investigation ~nd report. I find that the Church acquired this property by deed
<br />dated January 5th, 196~i-' By abatement #10~3 the Commissioner of the Revenue relieved all of the 1961 assessment,
<br />accordingly, there are no taxes due on the proper~y and no action of City Council is required. (Signed) J.S.

<br />DITIONAL SEASONS, TO THE TIDEWATER TIDES BASEBALL C~.UB, A DIVISION OF THE
<br />WILLIAM B. MACDONALD, JR. CORPORATION"

<br /> On motion of Mr. Breedlove, the ordinance was adopted, and by the following vote:

<br /> Nays: None
<br />
<br /> 61-60 - Motion of Mr. Barnes to go into the election of ~wo m~mbers to the Minimum
<br />Housing Board, was adopted, without dissenting vote.
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes that Shirley Hanbury and R. L. Sweeney be elected to the Minimum
<br />Mousing Board, for a period of four years, was adopted, without dissenting vo~e.
<br /> (Mr. Hanbury's term expiring December 31st, 1963 and Mr. Sweeney's on December 3lQ' i964.~)

<br /> 61-60 - Motion of Mr. Breedlove to go into the election of two Trustees to the Cemetery
<br />Perpetual Care Fund was adopted, without dissenting vote.
<br />
<br />Mr. Barnes nominated Mr. Weiseman and Mr. Seward
<br />Mr. Weiseman nominated Mr. Barnes and Mr. Seward.
<br />
<br />On motion of Mr. Breedlove, nominations were closed.
<br />
<br /> Vote being taken, Mr. Weiseman and Mr. Seward were elected Cemetery Fund Trustees, and
<br />by the following vote:
