Against bond.issue wore 9est two thousand, four hundred forty-six votes, and with a certificate of John R. Porter, Jr., Clerk of this Court, thereto attached certifying tlne result of said election. On consideration whereof, it is ordered that the said certificate of elec- tion returns be filed in the Clerk's office of this court, and that it is hereby e~atered of record as the result of said election that a majority of said qualified votes were cast 'For Bond Issue' and it is farther ordered thai the Clerk of this Court do forthwith certify m copy of this order to the Council of the City of Portsmouth, who shall thereupon be fully authorized and empowered to prepare and issue and to sell or to negotiate said bonds upon the faith, credit and property of said m~nicipality in the amount so authorized. Barnes to receive as information was adopted, without dissenting vote. 61-341 - The following communication from the Cradock Junior High School Parent Teacher~ Association was read: "Our Parent Teacher Association has recommended that we write and urge you to partici pate. on a co-operative basis with the Norfolk County Juvenile Detent$on Home at Great Bridge. (Signed) Mrs. Cornelius Hohmann, Chairman, Juvenile Protection, Cradock Jr. P.T.A." Motion of Mr. Barnes to refer to a conference of the Council on the subject.was adopted~ without dissenting vote. 61-342 - The following communication from 'Portsmouth City Employees Local Union ~733 was read: "Please find attached an ordinance which we request that ygu consider an the next regu- lar Council meeting. AsL you recall we have discussed this matter with you in conference, and it was thought at. that time you were going to t.ake some action, however you haye not. As you further recall it was told to you that the Local could non understand why the monthly employees got six automatic wage increases and the hourly employees only got five automatic w~ge increas$ es. Please include me on the adjenda next Tuesday night so I can discuss this. matter furnher with you. Thank you for your consideration. (Signe~) Marion E Turtle, Business Representative." ~r. Turtle was non present. 61-343 - The following con~nnnication from the Cradock Property Owners' Association was read: "It is seldom that a group of citizens feel inclined no commend the Council. Too often we reluctantly acquiesce to their decisions o~Tvociferously object. This, then, is an occasion of note. Our Association wishes to endorse the Council's Recision to pro,ced with ~he proposed annexation action against Norfolk County, and to congratulate the~Council end,the City Manager, the City Attorney and the Planning Direc tor on the Cnnesse w~th which the s~tuat~on was handled. - $~gned C L Knight, Pres~ en . Motion of Mr. Barnes that the.conm~unication be received and acknowledged with thanks, was adopted, without dissenting vote. 61-344 - "At its regular monthly'meeting on December 5th, 1961, the City Planning Commission unanimously resolved to recommend closure of an alley in its entirety in the block bounded by King St., Constitution Ave., (Formerly Sixth Ave.), County St., and Harbor Drive (formerly Seventh Ave.).
