May 15th, 1962 At a called meeting of the City Council, held on May 15th, 1962, at twelve o'clock C S. Atkinson, Jack P. Barnes, John L. Dillon, L. L. Knight, W. T. Leafy, George R. Walker, A. P.'Johnson, Jr , City Manager, and J. S. Livesay, Jr., City Attorney. Absent - R. Irvine Smith Jack P. Barnes, Vice President, presiding. The meeting was opened with prayer by Mr. AtkiA~on. The following call for the meeting was read: "Please at%end a called meeting of the City Council, in the Council Chamber, twelve o'clock noon, on Tuesday, May 15th, 1962, to consider the following: 1. Ordinance on second reading, approving the sale of One Million Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars of General Obligation Bonds, approved on first reading au called meeting held on May 9th, 1962. 2. Election of Portsmouth's representative to the Tidewater Airport Commission. By Order of the President. 62-102 - On motion of Mr. Leafy, the following ordinance, which was approved on first reading at called meeting of May 9th, 1962, was adopted, and by the following vote: "AN ORDINANCE TO APPROVE THE SALE OF ONE MILLION EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS PROVIDED IN THE ORDINANCE ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON MARCH 21, 1962, AND FIXING THE RATE OF INTEREST FOR SAID BONDS." Ayes: Atkinson, Barnes, Dillon, Knight, Leafy, Walker Nays: None. 62-103 - Motion of Mr. Knight td go into the eledtion of Portsmouth's representative the Tidewater Airport Commission was adopted. On motion of Mr. Knight, Jack P. Barnes was elected to represent Portsmouth on the Tidewater Airpor~ Commission, and by the following vote: Ayes: Atkinson, Dillon, Knight, Leary, Walker Nays: None. Mr. Barnes abstaining. On motion adjourned. Approved: City Clerk. Vice President.
