<br />Magisterial District of Norfolk County to the future of the City of Portsmouth; and
<br /> WHEP~EAS, proper planning on a continuing basis for this joint City proposed annexation
<br />area is an absolute necessfty for lack of which there can be no excuse;
<br /> NOW~ THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia that the
<br />Director of Utilities is hereby instructed not to extend City wa~er service ~o any new subdivision in the Western
<br />Branch Magisterial District of Norfolk County unless said plat of record filed after January 1, 1963 includes a
<br />notatmon indicating approval of the Portsmouth City Planning Commission, pursuan~ to terms of the "Subdivision
<br />Regulations" Ordinance, and the signature of the Planning Director as an indication of such review and approval;
<br />and that the Portsmouth City Planning Commission is urged respectfully to relate its long-range program to the
<br />broader metropolitan picture of which it is an integral part and rD take such s~eps and make such public proposals
<br />as are deemed necessary and proper to acqualnt the general public with a mezropolitan Portsmouth planning program."
