<br /> The meeting was opened with p~aye~ by Mr. Atkinson.
<br />
<br /> Minutes of the regular meeting held on December 27th, 1962, were read and approved.
<br /> The following hearing on zoning changes and use permits was held:
<br />
<br />65-1a- 62-29 - Petition of the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Atkinson To concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission
<br />and ro approve the following ordinance on first reading, was adopted,, without dissenting vote:
<br />
<br />"ZONING AMENq)MENT ORDINANCE 62-29."

<br />UP 62-5 - Petition of the Christian Broadcasting Network. - 'Marina.'
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Eastes to concur in the recommendation of the Planning Commission and
<br />approve the following resolution wes adopted, without dissenting vote:
<br />
<br /> "WHEREAS, Christian Broadcasting Network, Inc., has filed an application pursuant ro
<br />Section 4-2 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of a use permit as herein-
<br />after described; and
<br /> WHEREAS, the applicant, the Planning Director and the City Manager have done all
<br />things required ro be done in connection with said application, and the Planning Commission has recommended the
<br />granting of said use permit,
<br /> NOW, THEREFOHE~ BE ~ RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia:
<br />
<br />That the use for which the use permil hereinafter described is
<br />sought (1) will not adversely affect the health or safety of
<br />persons residing or working in the neighborhood of the proposed
<br />use, (2) will not be detrimenfsl to the public welfare or injurious
<br />ro property or improvements in the neighborhood, and (3) will be
<br />in accord with the purposes of said Zoning Ordinance.

<br />That Christian Broadcasting Network, Inc~, is hereby granted a
<br />use permit, pursuant ~o Section 4-2 of said Zoning Ordinance,
<br />for the construction and operation of a marina ro be located
<br />on the premises ar 13la Spratley Street."

<br />UP 62-6 - Petition of City of Portsmouth -'Sewer Pumping Station.'
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Leary~ the recommendation of the Planning Commission wes approved
<br />and the following resolution adopted:
<br />
<br /> "WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth, by its City Attorney, has filed an application
<br />pursuant ro Section 4-2 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1961, for the granting of s use permit
<br />as hereinafter described; and
<br /> WHEREAS, the applicant, the Planning Director and the City Manager have done all
<br />things required ~o be ~one in connection with said application, and the Planning Commission has recommended the
<br />granting of said use permit.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginza:
<br />
<br />That the use for which the use permit hereinafter described is sought

<br />That the City of Portsmouth is hereby granted a use permit pursuant
<br />to Section 4-2 of said Zoning Ordinance, for the construction and
<br />operation of a sewer pumping station ro be located on that certain
<br />parcel of land described as follows: Beginning at a point in the
<br />wes~ right-of-way line of Chandler Harper Drive 260 feet, mot8 or
<br />less, north of the cenrerline of Yorkshire Road, said point being
<br />situate et the cenrerline of an existing culvert; thence south
<br />along said right-of-way line 86 feet, more or less, roa point;
<br />thence west 92 feet, more or less, to a point; thence north 60 feet,
<br />more or tess, To the shoreline; thence east along said shoreline
<br />100 feet, more or less; ro the point of beginning."
