March 24. 1998 323 <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday ~March 24, 1998 there were <br />present: ~ <br /> <br /> Vice May6r Johnny M. Clem°ns, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, <br />*James T. Martin, *P, Ward Robinett, J. Thomas Benn III, City Manager Ronald W. <br />Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />98- 55 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March <br />24, 1998, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive SesSiOn; <br /> <br /> By: order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />98 - 56 The following item was discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Taxicabs <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr, Griffin, to go nto Executive Sessipn <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1,344 of the Code of Virginia, for d scussion or <br />consideration of the following:~ <br /> <br />Discussion or consideration of the condition, acquisition, or use of real <br />Property in the downtown section of the City for a public purpose, or the <br />disposition of publicly held property as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). <br /> <br />2. Legal matters as permitted by Subsection (A)(7). <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts,. pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 <br />of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the COUncil Member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceeding ExeCutive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted frdm open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br /> 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by <br /> which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or <br /> considered in the meeting by the City CoUncil, <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br />On motion, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared by: <br /> <br />Debbie K.
