<br />and M. A. Korb, Jr., City Attorney.

<br /> The meeting was opened with prayer by Mr. Smith.
<br />
<br />The following call for the meeting was read:

<br /> "Please attend a called meeting of the City Council at 7:.30 P. M. on Friday, September 20, 1963, to
<br />consider on second reading the eight ordinances approved on first reading st regular council meeting on September
<br />l~th-3pertaining To the acquisition of land for the widening of l%out~ 337 - Portsmouth Boulevard."

<br />63-218 -.The following letter from the City Attorney was read:
<br />
<br /> "This is ro advise you that the City has successfully negotiated with Mrs. Kathleen F. Miles for
<br />the purchase of Psrcel 154 on Portsmouth Boulevard. Therefore, it is not necessary zo institute condemnation
<br />proceedings against her. Accordingly, it is my recommendation that the ordinance ro authorize condemnation of
<br />Parcel 154 not be passed on second reading." :
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes that the ordinance referring zo Parcel 154 be removed from the agenda ams
<br />adopted, without dissenting vote.

<br />63-218 - The following ordinance, approved on first reading az last meeting, was taken up and read:

<br />OF ASSEMBLY OF 1958, SAID PROPERTY BEING NECESSARY FOR IMPROVEMENT OF A PORTION

<br />On motion of Mr. Eastes, the ordinance was adopted, and by the roll'sing vote:
