February 11, 1964 <br /> <br />central c~ty revitalization program. <br /> Attached are the .by-laws accepted by the committee ~ithout dissent. <br />yo~r approval. <br /> <br />ordinance officially creating this body, ~o adopt by-laws, to elect officers, and to review our community's <br /> We ~rus¢ they meet with <br /> <br /> The committee elected these officers for 1964: <br /> Chairman Maunders Early <br /> Vice Chairman Robert Cr~zg <br /> Secretary Mrs. Samuel I. Golightly <br /> <br /> The corgmittee anticipages an active schedule in 1964 and will do everything in its power <br />bolster our workable program for community %mprovemen~. <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Barnes 5o receive as information was adopted, without dissenting vote. <br /> <br />64-M~ - The following ordinance was read, and.on motion of Mr. Knight, approved on first reading: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO A~END SECTION 3 OF THE ORDINANCE ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE <br />CREATING A CITIZENS ADVISORY CO~ITTEE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH AND PROVIDING <br />FOR THE COmPENSATION.AND DUTIES THEREOF AND OTHER MATTERS PERTAINING THERETO', <br />ADOPTED JANUARY 14,.1964, ~ERTAINING TO.TEE QUALIFICATIONS OF ~E~BERS" <br /> <br />64-g9 - The following communication from Thomas J. Kent., ~93 ~yoming Avenue, was read: <br /> <br /> "I would like to reg&ster pro~es~ against the City's impos%tion in dem~ndingiState motor vehicle <br />registration card during the purchase of city tags~ Not only does this inhibit the procurement oE city rags <br />for more than one motor vehic-le in a fsmily~-by one.pperagor, it curtails purchase by~mail,~ which was a convenience.' <br /> Note: The State motor vehicle code forbids operation of vehicle without registration card." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes re refer go the City ~anager, with request that he repo.rt back to the Council <br />was adopted, withong dissenting vote. <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />Ap prc~ved -- <br /> <br /> President <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
