May 15, 1964 <br /> <br />At a called meeting of the City Council, held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 1964, there were <br /> <br />R. Irvine Smith, C.. S. At-kinson, Jack P. Barnes, John. L. Dillon, L.. L.. Knight, W. T. Leery, <br />and Carroll O. Ferrell, Jr., Assistant City Attorney. <br /> <br />The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a called meeting of the Council at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 1964, <br />consider the adoption of the following ordinance: <br /> 'AN ORDINANCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF CUT OFF AVENUE, REED AVENUE, LAIGH ROAD, <br /> NEWBIE AVENUE, AND COPELANDAVENUE' <br /> approved on first reading at meeting of Council on May lg, 1964." <br /> <br />tO <br /> <br /> 64-99 - The following ordinance, approved on first reading at regular meeting of Council on May 12; 1964, <br />was taken up and road: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF CUT OFF AVENUE, REED AVENUE, LAIGE ROAD, <br />NEWBIE AVENUE AND COPELAND AVENUE" <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Knight, the ordinance was. adopted, and the folio, wing report of viewers was <br /> <br /> "We, the undersigned, who were appointed viewers m~:the City Counoil meeting held on May 12, 1964, <br />to view the following streets:~ Cut Off Avenue from the southern line of Ballard Avenue to the northern line <br />of Interstate Route 264; Reed Avenue fro~ a point lO.O. feet south of the southern line of Ballard Avenue to the <br />northern line of Interstate Route 264; Laigh Road from a point 300 feet south of the southern line of Ballard <br />Avenue to the northern line of Interstate Route 264; Newbie Avenue~from the~southern line of~BalLard Avenue to <br />the northern line of Interstate Route 264; Copeland Avenue from~the eastern line of Cut Off Avenue te~ its: <br />eastern terminus et a point approximately lgO feet easi .of the easter~ 1D~e of Newbie Avenue; and. report whether <br />or not in our opinion any, a~d if any, what inc~ven~ence would result from the closing of said streets, <br />respectfully report that in our opinion no inconvenience would result in the closing of said streets, either <br />to the public or to any adjacent property owners, or to an~ interested parties.
