<br /> "WHEREAS the Portsmouth Junior Chamber of. Commerce is ever cognizant of the needs of the City of
<br /> Portsmouth; and
<br /> WHEREAS the City of Portsmouth is presentlF endeaw~ring To improve itself by s natural and orderly
<br />expansion of its boundaries by annexing a part_of the City of Chesapeake (fO~merly Norfolk CeUnty); and
<br /> WHEREAS a majority-of the persons that reside in tire a~orementioned area have business, civic and
<br />religious ties with the City.of Portsmeuth; arid
<br /> WHEREAS it is felt tkat said Annexation would be for the best interest for the citizens of both
<br /> the City of Portsmouth and those living in the area to'be s~hexed; now th'ere~fore be
<br /> RESOLVED that the Portsmouth Junior, Chamber of Commerce does hereby endorse the position of the
<br />City of. Portsmouth in its pending annexation suit; and be it
<br /> RESOLVED that the Portsmouth-Junior Chamber of Commerce does. offer its suppor~ ~o the City of
<br />Portsmouth and does encourage other individuals and groups' to endorse and assist in this action; and be it
